Early spurt blasts No. 13 Texas past Saint Mary's

AUSTIN, Texas -- Erika Arriaran scored 21 points to lead No. 13 Texas to a 110-76 win over Saint Mary's 110-76 in the second round of the World Vision Classic on Sunday.

Kathleen Nash and Brittainey Raven each had 20 points and Ashley Lindsay added 15 for the Longhorns. Carla Cortijo also had 12 assists.

The Longhorns used a 20-4 run in the first half to open up a 22-point lead and never looked back. They led 52-36 at halftime and Saint Mary's was unable to pull any closer in the second half.

Ashlee Smith scored 17 points and Katie Batlin added 11 for Saint Mary's. Louella Tomlinson grabbed 10 rebounds. St. Mary's was without its leading scorer Jontelle Smith.

Texas will take on Old Dominion (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today, No. 25 AP) and Saint Mary's will play Dayton in the final round on Monday.
