Florida State rides late surge past College of Charleston

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Freshman center Cierra Bravard scored 25 points and No. 22 Florida State used a late surge for a 70-57 victory over College of Charleston on Thursday night.

The Seminoles (3-0) went on a 15-0 run after Sarah Moye's baseline jumper gave the Cougars a 49-48 lead with 7:16 to play. Florida State converted 15 of 16 free throws down the stretch to pull away.

Jacinta Monroe had 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Seminoles.

Moye, Brooke Kotcella and Tonia Gerty had eight points apiece for the College of Charleston (1-1).

Bravard and Monroe combined for 23 points as the Seminoles built a 32-21 halftime lead after the Cougars missed 18 of their first 19 shots.
