CANCUN, Mexico -- Mickel Picco scored 23 points and Boston College started the game with a 20-0 run to beat TCU (No. 24 ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) 77-68 on Thursday in the Caribbean Challenge.

Stefanie Murphy added 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles (4-1). Picco and Murphy each scored six points during the opening run that finally ended when Helena Sverrisdottir hit a jumper 6:46 into the game.

TCU (5-1) was able to cut the deficit to 33-22 at the half. The Horned Frogs were trailing by three with 3:53 left, but Murphy hit a layup and Picco had a tip-in to extend the lead back to seven a minute later.

The Eagles hit 15-for-17 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal the victory.

Rachel Rentschler scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Horned Frogs. Sverrisdottir and TK LaFleur each added 15 points.

TCU will play Eastern Michigan and Boston College will face James Madison on Friday.
