Sverrisdottir scores 18 as TCU regroups, tops Eastern Michigan

CANCUN, Mexico -- Helena Sverrisdottir scored 18 points and TCU (No. 24 ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) recovered from its first loss of the season with a 71-55 victory over Eastern Michigan on Friday in the Caribbean Challenge.

Rachel Rentschler added 14 rebounds and 13 points and for TCU (6-1) while TK LaFleur scored 12 points.

Tavelyn James led Eastern Michigan (2-4) with 17 points. Tara Johnson added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

TCU lost to Boston College on Thursday, with the Eagles scoring the game's first 20 points. On Friday, the Horned Frogs got off to another slow start, trailing Eastern Michigan by three early on before rallying for a 34-29 halftime lead.

The Horned Frogs took control in the second half to put the game away.
