CINCINNATI -- Sophomore Ta'Shia Phillips had a game-high 20 points and 13 rebounds and No. 25 Xavier rolled to a 66-43 win over Winthrop on Saturday.
Senior Jerri Taylor added 13 points for the Musketeers, who have won three straight games since their ranking dropped this week from 23rd to 25th.
Phillips scored 12 points in the second half on her way to her fourth double-double of the season.
Xavier (5-2) never trailed after senior Tudy Reed converted a three-point play to give the Musketeers an 11-9 lead with 11:42 left in the first half. Taylor scored seven points while Xavier was taking control with a 12-2 run before halftime.
Winthrop scored eight points in the first 7 1/2 minutes of the second half before going scoreless for nearly seven minutes during a 15-0 Xavier run.
Junior Jessica Fansler led Winthrop (2-3) with a season-high 18 points.
