BERKELEY, Calif. -- Helena Svettisdottir had 20 points and 11 rebounds, TK Lafleur added 15 points and TCU (not ranked ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) nearly blew a big second-half lead before holding on to beat Saint Louis 73-59 in the Collier's International Classic on Saturday.
Shayla Moore and Emily Carter added 12 points apiece for the Frogs in a matchup of former Conference USA rivals. TCU (7-2), off to its best since 2004, plays No. 3 California on Sunday.
TCU led by as much as 16 in the first half but had the lead whittled to 53-51 with nine minutes left. The Frogs, who blew a 16-point lead in the final six minutes while losing to Fresno State on Thursday, only allowed eight points the rest of the way in this one.
Amanda Kemezys had 12 points and seven rebounds to lead St. Louis (2-5). Heather King added 10 points and eight rebounds.
