No. 16 Maryland holds ODU without a field goal in final four minutes for victory

NORFOLK, Va. -- DeMauria Liles scored 20 points and Maryland (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) held Old Dominion without a field goal for the final four minutes in a 74-65 victory Sunday.

Shadasia Green's layup gave the Lady Monarchs (5-4) a 63-62 lead with 3:56 to play. But Old Dominion, which led by as many as eight points in the first half, made just two free throws the rest of the way.

Old Dominion's Tiffany Green, a 6-foot-2 senior center averaging 13.8 points per game, was held without a point in the first half and didn't score until she made a layup five minutes after halftime.

Kristi Toliver, the ACC preseason player of the year, had 19 points, and Marissa Coleman had 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Terps (9-2).

Old Dominion, which had its 29-game home winning streak snapped in Thursday's 81-76 loss to Tennessee (No. 13, No. 11), was led by junior forward Jessica Canady's 20 points and 11 rebounds.
