CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Jacqua Williams and Alex Montgomery each scored 18 points to lead Georgia Tech (No. 22 ESPN/USA Today, No. 24 AP) to a 68-50 win over Miami on Monday.
Iasia Hemingway added 11 for Georgia Tech (13-3, 1-1), which has won nine of its last 10 games.
Georgia Tech used a 15-0 run in the second half to take a 51-39 lead. During the run, the Yellow Jackets hit three consecutive 3-pointers, including two by Montgomery, while holding Miami scoreless for over five minutes.
Miami (10-7, 0-3) pulled within 51-48 on a basket by Epiphany Woodson with 6:36 left, but that's the closest the Hurricanes would get the rest of the way as Georgia Tech closed the game on a 17-2 run.
The Hurricanes were led by Diane Barnes, who scored 11 points.
Miami has lost three straight, all ACC contests.
