Hampton hits 7 of 8 free throws to help DePaul knock off Rutgers

CHICAGO -- Keisha Hampton scored 18 points, including 7-of-8 from the free throw line, to lead DePaul to a 60-58 victory over Rutgers (No. 24 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) on Saturday night.

Two other DePaul (15-5, 3-3 Big East) players were in double digits. China Threatt came off the bench and added 15 points and Deirdre Naughton chipped in 10 points and five assists. Felicia Chester had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Blue Demons.

Rutgers (11-6, 3-3) led 31-30 at the half in a game which featured 16 lead changes. DePaul's largest lead after the break was five points with six seconds remaining.

The Scarlet Knights had 20 points in the paint compared with 16 by DePaul.

Brittany Ray had a game-high 20 points for the Scarlet Knights. Epiphanny Prince added 15 points and five assists.
