CINCINNATI -- Ta'Shia Phillips and Jerri Taylor each scored 17 points to lead Xavier (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) to its 12th consecutive victory, beating George Washington 82-62 on Wednesday night.
Xavier (21-4, 9-0 Atlantic 10), which has not lost since Dec. 21 at Arizona State, made 14 3-pointers for the victory. Taylor went 4-of-6 from 3-point range.
Tudy Reed added 15 points, including four 3-pointers. April Phillips scored 10 points and had 12 rebounds for the Musketeers.
Xavier went 14-of-19 (73.7 percent) from 3-point range, second-best in school history and tied for the season high in the Atlantic 10. It was the best 3-point percentage in coach Kevon McGuff's seven-year tenure.
George Washington (14-10, 6-3 A-10) got 14 points from Tiana Myers, and 11 points each from Jessica Adair and Erica Rivera.
The Colonials shot 40 percent against Xavier, the nation's top-ranked team in field-goal percentage defense. They are the third team to shoot 40 percent against the Musketeers.
Reed went 4-for-4 from 3-point range in the first half, helping Xavier build a 44-32 lead at halftime.
The game was delayed for 18 minutes after the lights went out in the arena just 43 seconds into the second half.
