NEW ORLEANS -- Chelsie Wiley scored 26 points to lead Central Florida to a 79-66 victory over Houston in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA tournament on Friday.
The Knights (15-16), avenging an 80-65 regular-season defeat on Jan. 25, raced to a 39-21 lead at the half, extended their advantage to 51-29 and were ahead by at least nine points the rest of the way.
Emma Cannon, who scored three points in the opening round against Rice, added 20 points and 13 rebounds for fifth-seeded UCF -- which will play No. 1 seed Southern Methodist in the semifinals on Saturday.
Cannon had 14 points and 10 rebounds by halftime, hitting 8 of 11 shots for UCF, which shot 51.7 percent from the field.
Courtney Taylor, who hurt her knee early in the first half but returned a few minutes later, led fourth-seeded Houston (19-10) with 19 points. Brittney Scott had 15.
