BERKELEY, Calif. -- As the loose ball made its way out to Alison Lacey behind the 3-point arc in the closing seconds, she contemplated what to do next."When I got the ball, I thought 'Should I shoot?'" Lacey said. "Then I said just do it and see what happens."
• Iowa State scored the final eight points of the game, including two 3-pointers in the final minute, to advance to its second Elite Eight and first since upsetting No. 1 seed Connecticut in 1999.
• The Cyclones shot 10-for-25 from 3-point range; they have made 10-plus 3-pointers in all three tournament games, and with 36 total are eight shy of the tournament record.
• Alison Lacey scored 17 of her game-high 29 points in the second half, including the go-ahead 3-pointer in the final 30 seconds.
