LAS VEGAS -- Chassidy Fussell scored 21 points and Texas (No. 23 AP) beat UNLV 85-59 on Sunday night for its second consecutive victory at the BTI Classic.
Kathleen Nash added 19 points and Ashleigh Fontenette 11 for the Longhorns (7-3), who shot 49 percent from the field -- including 56 percent on 3-pointers.Kelli Thompson led the Lady Rebels (5-5) with 15 points and Ta'Nitra Byrd had 10.Texas held UNLV to 36 percent shooting and outrebounded the Lady Rebels 41-38. The Longhorns led 38-33 at halftime.Texas beat in-state rival SMU 91-73 on Saturday in the first game of the three-day series. The Lady Rebels lost 59-54 to South Florida in overtime.The BTI Classic continues Monday, when Texas plays South Florida on the last day of the series.
