Georgia rallies to thwart Mississippi's upset bid

OXFORD, Miss. -- Jasmine James scored 19 points, and Georgia (No. 24 AP) rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat Mississippi 61-56 on Sunday.

Jasmine Hassell added 17 points for the Lady Bulldogs (19-6, 9-3 SEC).

Georgia wasted no time chipping away at Ole Miss' 31-25 halftime lead, outscoring the Lady Rebels 13-7 to open the second half.

Valencia McFarland had 15 points and Maggie McFerrin added 12 for Ole Miss (10-14, 3-9).

James is from Memphis, Tenn., about 80 miles from Oxford.
