PULLMAN, Wash. -- Mackenzie Argens scored 18 points as Washington beat cross-state rival Washington State 65-48 on Saturday night.
Regina Rogers added 13 points and Charmaine Barlow pulled down 10 rebounds as the Huskies (11-14, 6-10 Pac-10), who snapped a three-game losing streak and recorded their 32nd straight win over Washington State.
The Cougars (8-20, 6-10 Pac-10) were led by Carly Noyes, who scored eight points. Sage Romberg and Brandi Thomas each added seven points for the Cougars.
Washington's defense dominated, forcing 17 turnovers. The Huskies also outrebounded the Cougars 45-40.
Washington State limited Washington's leading scorer Kristi Kingma to a season-low five points, but the Cougars had no answer for the inside play of Argens and Rogers. Washington dominated inside the lane, outscoring the Cougars 36-14.
Washington State tried to shoot its way back into the game but made just 29.5 percent of its attempts (18 of 61). The Huskies shot 43 percent from the field (23 of 53).
