K.K. Houser has 18 points and six steals as Purdue drubs IUPUI

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- K.K. Houser had 18 points and six steals to lead Purdue (No. 21 ESPN/USA Today, No. 17 AP) over IUPUI 75-45 in the season opener for both teams on Sunday.

Houser sparked a 15-2 run in the first half, scoring eight of her 10 first-half points during the surge.

Brittany Rayburn had 14 points and five rebounds, and Sam Ostarello had eight points and five rebounds for the Boilermakers, who have won 10 straight season openers.

Nevena Markovic scored 14 points and Clara Mitchell added 10 for the Jaguars.

IUPUI closed the first half on a 7-0 run, but Purdue regained control with an 8-0 burst to open the second half for 36-24 lead.
