    Kierra Mallard, Christine Hyde key as Texas Tech rocks UMKC

    LUBBOCK, Texas -- Kierra Mallard had 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead Texas Tech (No. 19 AP) to a 94-67 win over Missouri-Kansas City on Friday night.

    Mallard's 3-pointer with just over six minutes to play in the second half capped a 21-3 run by the Lady Raiders (3-0), who led by as many as 29.

    Christine Hyde added 18 points for Texas Tech. She scored eight straight to lead the Lady Raiders on their big second half run.

    Dayon Halls-Jones led Missouri-Kansas City (3-2) with 15. The Kangaroos committed 30 turnovers, including 17 in the first half.

    Texas Tech led 44-35 at halftime.
