Maggie Lucas paces Penn State in romp of Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. -- Maggie Lucas scored 18 points to lead Penn State (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) to an 82-49 win over Wisconsin on Monday.

Lucas led a balanced attack for the Nittany Lions (11-3, 1-1 Big Ten) with Nikki Greene adding 14 points and Mia Nickson with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

Taylor Wurtz led Wisconsin (4-10, 0-2) with 17 points.

After Wisconsin pulled ahead 15-13 on back-to-back fastbreak layups, Penn State reeled off 14 straight points to take control.

Wisconsin cut the lead to seven, but the Nittany Lions finished the half on an 11-3 run and led 40-25 at the break.

The rout was on in the second half as the Badgers struggled offensively, shooting 33 percent for the game, including 2 of 18 from 3-point range.
