ATHENS, Ga. -- Anne Marie Armstrong and Khaalidah Miller scored 19 points apiece to lead Georgia (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today, No. 19 AP) to a 61-55 win over Southeastern Conference rival Florida on Thursday night.
Georgia (14-3, 3-1) led for almost the last 36 minutes -- by as many as 15 points -- but weathered a late rally by Florida (11-6, 1-3).Jennifer George led Florida with 15 points and eight rebounds. Deana Allen added 14 points.Armstrong led Georgia with six rebounds and three steals. She also turned the ball over 10 times.The Gators rallied in the second half. Florida went on a 13-2 run to close to 40-37 with 9:26 to go on George's 3-point play.Georgia pushed the lead back to 10 on two free throws by Armstrong with 4:53 to play. Florida got to 53-49 when Jaterra Bonds hit two free throws with 2:37 remaining, but the Gators never got closer.
