No. 4 Kentucky vs. No. 3 Oklahoma
Kansas City Regional: ESPN/ESPN360.com, 9:07 p.m. ET Tuesday
|Voepel||OU coach Sherri Coale feels that one advantage her team has is that the Sooners can adjust their style a fair amount depending on whom they play. Considering how Kentucky beat Nebraska with quickness, it's reasonable to expect that Coale won't want a track meet Tuesday. Not that the Sooners can't run because with point guard Danielle Robinson, they can, of course. But Oklahoma likely will want to establish its inside game, with Abi Olajuwon and Amanda Thompson, as it did against Notre Dame. The Sooners will have to do a better job on the boards and defensively than Nebraska did against Kentucky if they want to make their second consecutive Final Four.|
|Hays||Kentucky seems to be playing its brand of basketball as well as anyone, and that defense will put a lot of pressure on an Oklahoma rotation that doesn't have a lot of depth in the backcourt and played maximum minutes in the Sweet 16 overtime win over Notre Dame. The X factor could be whether Abi Olajuwon is able to exploit Kentucky's size disadvantage the way few teams have in the postseason.|
|Creme||Danielle Robinson is the difference. The Wildcats overwhelmed Nebraska with their full-court aggressiveness. Robinson is a one-player press break, negating that big advantage Kentucky had in Sunday's upset. Meanwhile, Abi Olajuwon and Amanda Thompson possess the kind of size to make matters difficult for the Wildcats inside. It will be close again, and that's where the Sooners, having been here before, will have an impact.|
