NEW YORK -- Dana Brown is the latest candidate to interview with the New York Mets about their vacant general manager position.

Brown is a special assistant to Toronto Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos. The Mets say Brown spent Wednesday at Citi Field meeting with chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon, assistant general manager John Ricco and other club executives.

Sandy Alderson, former president of the Oakland Athletics and CEO of the San Diego Padres, will complete his interview with Wilpon and Ricco on Thursday. Alderson first met with team officials last week.

The Mets plan to schedule a second round of interviews next week. They are searching for a successor to GM Omar Minaya, fired along with manager Jerry Manuel following a second consecutive losing season.
