SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Owen Wignot scored 22 points, including the go-ahead basket in overtime, as Siena advanced to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament semifinals with an 84-82 victory over Manhattan on Saturday night.
Wignot's jumper with 2:38 remaining in overtime broke an 80-80 tie. He also hit a free throw with 19 seconds remaining to provide the final margin for the sixth-seeded Saints (14-16), who have beaten the third-seeded Jaspers (20-12) in the tournament five of the last six seasons.
Wignot's 3-pointer with 8 seconds left in regulation sent the game to overtime, tied at 78.
Walters finished with 19 points for Siena and OD Anosike had 14 points and 10 rebounds, his 23rd double-double this season.
George Beamon scored 24 points for Manhattan, whose 14-win improvement this season under first-year coach Steve Masiello was the largest for any Division I team this season.
