Giants defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora was fined $12,500 for a hit on Minnesota quarterback Tarvaris Jackson during New York's 21-3 win over the Vikings in Detroit on Monday night.

An NFL spokesman said Umenyiora was cited for "roughing the passer" when he "unnecessarily struck the quarterback in the head and neck area."

The Vikings' Asher Allen was also docked $5,000 for a late hit on Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw.

Also, Giants coach Tom Coughlin apparently wasn't fined for his decision to run onto the field and argue a non-call with the officials. He was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct on the play.

Denver's Kevin Vickerson was fined $7,500 for a horse collar tackle, while teammate Syd'Quan Thompson was docked $5,000 for unnecessary roughness for hitting an opponent late at Arizona.

St. Louis' Oshiomogho Atogwe drew a $5,000 fine grabbing New Orleans's Reggie Bush by the helmet on a tackle.
