APRIL IS SCHOOL LIBRARY MONTH

April is School Library Month and schools from coast-to-coast will celebrate the valuable contributions of our nation's school libraries and librarians.

Why air School Library Month PSAs? Today's school libraries offer a full range of multimedia learning resources, and more than 44 million elementary, middle and high school students rely on school library services each week.

Since 1965, more than 60 education and library studies have produced clear evidence that school library programs staffed by qualified librarians have a positive impact on student academic achievement.

School Library Month is sponsored by the American Association of School Librarians, a division of the American Library Association. For more information please visit http://www.ala.org/aasl/slm .
