Ryan Fitzpatrick silences critics

After two poor performances, Fitzpatrick rebounded with his best game of the season, throwing a season-high four touchdown passes in the Jets blowout win over the Dolphins. Fitzpatrick trimmed his bushy beard last week, saying he needed to change his mojo. It worked. Game balls

The Jets came out of the game with only two injuries, they said. CB Marcus Williams (sprained knee) and LB Calvin Pace (abdominal strain) are day-to-day, according to Todd Bowles.

Dwight Howard will face Kristaps Porzingis for the first time tonight. Hes been impressed with the rookie thus far. For him to be 7-2, 7-3, hes skilled tremendously & and I like where his head is at, Howard said. I really never heard of the kid before the draft & I watched the draft & the fans were booing & I felt bad for him. But it seems now hes won New Yorks heart with the way hes played.

OBJ shines no matter the circumstance

Odell Beckham Jr. is so clearly the best player on the field every week. Even in the Giants worst offensive game of the year, he managed to come up with nine catches for 146 yards and a touchdown catch that cut the Washington lead to 20-14 with 4:57 left in the game. Regardless of the opponent, the score or the situation, Beckham gives the Giants hope. Game balls

Tom Coughlin didn't blame Rodgers-Cromartie's absence for the DeSean Jackson touchdown: "It was a post ball, so he would've had safety help anyway. The safety didn't help."

Jets 38, Dolphins 20 (final): The Jets live. The season still matters. They played their most complete game in nearly two months, snapping a two-game losing streak. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brandon Marshall played pitch and catch all day, and the third-down defense dominated Ryan Tannehill. This was a much-needed win for Todd Bowles, who has received criticism in recent weeks.

WASHINGTON 20, GIANTS 14 (FINAL): It's tough when you're down three offensive linemen, but Eli Manning picked a bad time to play his worst game of the season. Manning's three interceptions dug the Giants a 20-0 hole from which they could not recover, and Sunday's loss dropped them into a first-place tie with Washington at 5-6. They simply don't have enough depth or talent on their roster to win when they turn the ball over, though that Beckham kid is pretty good.
