Pettitte pulled in third with groin injury

NEW YORK -- New York Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte is expected to miss four to five weeks with a Grade 1 left groin strain suffered in the third inning of Sunday's 9-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Right-hander Sergio Mitre, who has been on the disabled list since June 15 and has not pitched since June 4, will start in Pettitte's place against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.
