Manuel suspended for Tuesday night

NEW YORK -- The New York Mets had a new manager -- for one game.

Jerry Manuel was suspended by Major League Baseball for Tuesday night's game vs. the St. Louis Cardinals for bumping into umpire Doug Eddings on Friday in the Mets' 6-1 win at Los Angeles.

Luis Castillo was called out at first, though replays showed Castillo's foot was already on the bag before shortstop Rafael Furcal's throw reached James Loney's glove.
