Mets exercise Jose Reyes option

The New York Mets exercised shortstop Jose Reyes' 2011 club option for $11 million on Wednesday, while leaving open the possibility of reaching a longer-term deal sometime this offseason to supersede it.

The team had until Nov. 15 to exercise the option.
