EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Jets needed another miracle to win a football game, and the miracle's name was Brad Smith.

To borrow a phrase from Terrell Owens, the talk-show host who moonlights as a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, the Jets were just an average team for two-plus quarters Thursday night at the New Meadowlands Stadium.
