Source: Yanks won't chase Albert Pujols

TAMPA, Fla. -- The New York Yankees have no plans to look into Albert Pujols' availability, a baseball official with knowledge of the team's thinking said.

The Cardinals and Pujols failed to agree to a new contract by Wednesday's imposed deadline. The Yankees are always rumored to be in the mix for big-name players, but the official said the Yankees have no place to put Pujols.

Mark Teixeira plays first, Alex Rodriguez is at third and Jorge Posada will serve as designated hitter.
