Edgar Ramirez suspended 50 games

NEW YORK -- Mets minor league pitcher Edgar Ramirez has been suspended for 50 games after a positive test.

Ramirez tested positive for Methylhexaneamine, the commissioner's office said Monday. He was penalized under baseball's minor league drug program.

The 27-year-old right-hander is 0-2 with a 4.91 ERA in two starts and seven relief appearances this season at Double-A Binghamton.
