Joba Chamberlain goes on DL

NEW YORK -- New York Yankees right-handed reliever Joba Chamberlain has been placed on the disabled list with what the team is calling a "strained flexor muscle."

Chamberlain will be off 10-14 days and then start a throwing program afterward, manager Joe Girardi said. Chamberlain is expected to be out for at least three weeks.

An MRI on Wednesday revealed the injury. Chamberlain said he is going to get a second MRI on Thursday to make sure the damage is not more severe.
