Home fans revel in Jeter's amazing feat

A sellout crowd of 48,103 in the Bronx on Saturday took home the memory of a lifetime

NEW YORK -- Derek Jeter joined the 3,000-hit club with a bang Saturday.

Jeter, the New York Yankees' captain, blasted a solo home run off Tampa Bay Rays starter David Price in the third inning. That made him the 28th player in major league history to amass 3,000 hits in a career. Even more importantly, Jeter became the first to do it while wearing a Yankees uniform.
