Cassell: Bills likely to keep three QB's

"I don't know if they want to go into depth about what the conversation was about, who's going to be No. 2 or No. 3," Matt Cassell said. "But every indication was made that we're probably gonna keep three quarterbacks, and that's all I can go off of right now."

Baylor's 400-pound marvel Laquan McGowan takes the field for warmups. After his Cotton Bowl TD, how much more will he be featured in Bears' passing attack this season? So many options but McGowan a unique matchup to say the least.

Bills have waived safety Jonathan Meeks after trying to trade him, I’m told. If not claimed, he could re-sign to practice squad.

A quiet Friday for the Jets, but they worked out a handful of players, including QB Matt Blanchard (Packers) and TE Brandon Bostick. You may remember Bostick from the NFC Championship Game; he's the Packer who botched the onside kick. Tight end is a big need for the Jets. Look for a move over the next 48 hours.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with #Raiders OLB Sio Moore. Versatility/pass rushing ability attractive to other teams.

Jets say they're happy with WR depth, but they worked out a handful of WRs -- Alan Bonner, DeAndre Carter, Vernon Johnson, Shane Wynn. #nyj

Jaguars cut 4 draft picks from 2013-2015 today. That's a sign the roster is more talented than it was when GM David Caldwell took over. Sixth- and seventh-round picks shouldn't make the team every year. That shows a dearth of talent.

Jaguars trim roster to 57. Former Auburn QB Nick Marshall, now a CB, is safe for now. Team has 4 more moves to make by 4 pm ET Saturday.

49ers cut free agent pickup Dockett

San Francisco signed DT Darnell Dockett to a two-year, $7.25M contract this offseason, but the team cut him today, according to ESPN sources and multiple reports. Dockett had 40.5 sacks and made three Pro Browls in 10 years with the Cardinals.

Does Barkley trade mean Tebow time?

ESPN's Adam Schefter says with Matt Barkley going to Arizona, it could mean Tim Tebow will make the roster: "If the Eagles are going to carry three quarterbacks, then Tim Tebow would stand to figure to make that roster in Philadelphia."

Looks like the Falcons will take a longer look at Sean Renfree behind starting quarterback Matt Ryan after letting go of veteran Rex Grossman, according to Adam Schefter. The team also reportedly cut ties with T.J. Yates, who backed up Ryan last year.

Paul Gutierrez ESPN Staff Writer

The 49ers confirmed the release of veteran defensive lineman Darnell Dockett on Friday as part of the first wave of cuts to get the roster down to 53 players by Saturday's 4 p.m. ET deadline. Also released were ILB Philip Wheeler, S Craig Dahl, OL Joe Looney and undrafted rookies Patrick Miller, a left tackle, and Issac Blakeney, a receiver.

Barkley traded to Cardinals for draft pick

The Cardinals received QB Matt Barkley from the Eagles for a conditional 7th-round pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Fox Sports. If Philadelphia chooses to carry three QBs, there's a chance Tim Tebow will remain on the roster.
