First attempt? Not so good. Second attempt? Much better. Courtroom artist Jane Rosenberg redeemed herself with this strikingly accurate portrayal of Tom Brady. Note: She had no time constraints while creating the image on the right.

Jay Gruden names Kirk Cousins starting QB

The Redskins coach explains his decision to start Cousins over Robert Griffin III: "It's not so much what somebody didn't do; it's just what Kirk has done. What he's done at practice and OTAs has really opened our eyes and he's proven to the best quarterback on our roster."

Undrafted rookie placekicker Corey Acosta, a camp leg for the 49ers who converted all four of his field goal attempts this preseason, announced on Twitter he has been cut. No surprise there, given the presence of veteran Phil Dawson. But Acosta acquitted himself well, especially with his 50-yard FG Saturday night in Denver. Dawson, though, is 40 years old and in a contract year so Acosta could be called upon next season, unless rookie punter Bradley Pinion can pull off double duty.
