Falcons cut Shembo after arrest

Hours after Prince Shembo was charged with allegedly killing his girlfriend's dog, the Falcons cut the linebacker. Vaughn McClure says the team, which has dealt with animal cruelty cases before, was quick to make a move to avoid further distractions.

Falcons LB allegedly kills girlfriend's dog

Prince Shembo was charged with aggravated cruelty for allegedly killing his girlfriend's dog on April 15. The investigation concluded yesterday. Shembo played in all 16 games for Atlanta last season as a rookie. Story

Tom Brady’s appeal hearing will be held June 23, and possibly continued June 25, a league source told ESPN.

Looks like according to Georgia law, Shembo would face 1 to 5 years in prison if found guilty of felony aggravated cruelty to animals.
