Week 8: Injury updates/inactives around the NFL

Here's a rundown of some late-breaking news before today's games.

Giants at Vikings: Wide receiver Amani Toomer is healthy and will start for the Giants. Center Shaun O'Hara didn't make the trip, so Wayne Lucier will start in his place. Wide receiver Randy Moss will start and is expected to be involved in 20-30 plays for the Vikings.

Ravens at Eagles: No major surprises for the Ravens. Eagles running back Brian Westbrook (cracked rib) will not play, so veteran Dorsey Levens will start in his place.

Jaguars at Texans: Returner Jermaine Lewis is out for the Jaguars. Safeties Glenn Earl and Jason Simmons are out for the Texans.

Bengals at Titans: Wide receiver Peter Warrick is out for the Bengals. Quarterback Steve McNair was deactivated because of his bruised chest and suited up only as Tennessee's emergency quarterback. Billy Volek will start in his place. Tight end Shad Meier is out. Although running back Chris Brown (turf toe) did not practice and wore a protective boot all week, he felt good enough in pre-game warm-ups and is active.

Lions at Cowboys: Wide receiver Roy Williams and cornerback Fernando Bryant are out for the Lions. Dedric Ward is inactive for the Cowboys meaning Keyshawn Johnson is the only regular receiver in the lineup. Drew Henson is the backup quarterback.

Cardinals at Bills: Defensive tackle Wendell Bryant is inactive for the Cardinals. Renaldo Hill will start in place of cornerback Duane Starks, who is active. Buffalo's Ross Tucker starts for center Trey Teague.

Colts at Chiefs: Cornerback Nick Harper is healthy and will start for the Colts. Vonnie Holliday was benched and Jared Allen will get start at right defensive end for the Chiefs. Cornerback Dexter McCleon is out with a hamstring injury.

Packers at Redskins: Packers safety Darren Sharper is out with his knee injury.
Kicker John Hall and safety Sean Taylor are out for the Redskins.

Patriots at Steelers: Wide receiver Deion Branch (knee) and running back Corey Dillon are out for the Patriots. Cornerback Chad Scott is out for the Steelers.

Falcons at Broncos: Free safety Cory Hall, cornerback Aaron Beasley and defensive tackle Rod Coleman are out for the Falcons. The Broncos are without running back Tatum Bell.

Panthers at Seahawks: Tutan Reyes is out at guard for the Panthers. Linebacker Anthony Simmons and offensive lineman Chris Terry are out for the Seahawks.

Raiders at Chargers: Running back Justin Fargas and linebacker Travian Smith are out for the Raiders. Philip Rivers is the backup quarterback for San Diego. Safety Drayton Florence is out.
