Week 9: Injury updates/inactives around the NFL
John Clayton provides the latest news on key injuries going into Week 9.
Here's a rundown of some late-breaking news before today's games.
Patriots at Rams: Running back Corey Dillon will start for the Patriots. Wide receivers David Givens and Troy Brown are active, but Deion Branch is out again. Wide receiver Dane Looker is out for the Rams.
Seahawks at 49ers: Seahawks wide receiver Jerry Rice will play against his former team. Wideout Darrell Jackson is active, but Bobby Engram can't go for Seattle. Quarterback Tim Rattay starts for the 49ers.
Eagles at Steelers: Eagles running back Brian Westbrook will be in the starting lineup, wearing special pads for a cracked rib injury. Offensive lineman Jermane Mayberry is active. Steelers tailback Duce Staley is inactive because of a hamstring strain. Jerome Bettis starts for Staley.
Cowboys at Bengals: Tyrone Williams is out, so Lance Frazier starts at right cornerback for the Cowboys. Wide receivers Quincy Morgan and Dedric Ward are out. Defensive end Carl Powell and running back Chris Perry are out for the Bengals.
Redskins at Lions: Linebackers LaVar Arrington and Mike Barrow and defensive tackle Jermaine Haley are out for the Redskins. Wide receiver Roy Williams is active, but fellow wideout Tai Streets is out for the Lions. Running back Cory Schlesinger is active, but cornerback Chris Cash is out.
Raiders at Panthers: Cornerback Charles Woodson is active for the Raiders, but running back Justin Fargas, guard Ron Stone and linebacker Travian Smith are out. Running back Stephen Davis and linebacker Dan Morgan are out for the Panthers.
