Packers place DE Johnson on injured reserve with torn quad
GREEN BAY, Wisconsin - The Green Bay Packers placed defensive end Joe Johnson on injured reserve Wednesday, one day after learning he will miss the rest of the season with a torn right quadriceps tendon.
Johnson, 31, suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday's overtime loss to Kansas City and underwent an MRI on Monday. He is expected to undergo surgery by the end of the month.
