No penalty on field, but Reese hit for $25,000

Buffalo Bills safety Izell Reese, stunned by a $25,000 fine levied by the NFL last week, will appeal the sanction.

The fine resulted from an incident in an Oct. 12 game against the New York Jets, a contest in which the NFL contends Reese intentionally bumped one of the field officials.

No penalty was called on the play. The incident occurred on a run by the Jets and Reese said that he was simply attempting to move the official, who was in his path, as he moved forward toward the line ...
