Niners waive Pochman, sign Peterson on kicking carousel

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers changed kickers for the fourth time in 15 games Tuesday, waiving Owen Pochman and signing Todd Peterson.

Peterson, entering his 10th NFL season, was dropped by Pittsburgh in February after struggling last year before going on injured reserve with a broken rib. He kicked for the Seattle Seahawks for five seasons, playing under 49ers coach Dennis Erickson.
