Safety signs five-year extension

Chicago Bears: The Bears today signed safety Mike Green to a five-year contract.

Green would have become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Instead, the deal extends Green's contract through the 2008 season.

Over the last two season, Green has been the Bears second-leading tackler -- behind Brian Urlacher -- with 206 stops.
