Broncos bolsters TEs while Sharpe ponders
The Denver Broncos signed the potential replacement for Shannon Sharpe on Wednesday, reaching terms with unrestricted free agent tight end Jed Weaver on a three-year contract, ESPN.com has learned.
A five-year veteran, Weaver played the 2003 season with the San Francisco 49ers, and is coming off the best year of his career. Weaver started all 16 games for San Francisco and had 35 catches for 437 yards and one touchdown.
