Vikings' Smoot, McKinnie heading for boat-party trial
MINNEAPOLIS -- Two Minnesota Vikings players are headed for trial this spring on charges stemming from a boat cruise on Lake Minnetonka.
The trial for Fred Smoot is scheduled to begin May 30 while Bryant McKinnie is slated to go on trial July 7. Both players are charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct, indecent conduct, and lewd and lascivious behavior.
Neither player appeared in court Wednesday for a hearing that was expected to deal with defense motions to dismiss charges.
