Redskins RB Portis breaks hand in loss to Eagles
PHILADELPHIA -- The Washington Redskins' losses keep piling up.
Clinton Portis broke his right hand in the first half of Sunday's 27-3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Washington Post reported that night that the running back could be done for the season.
The Redskins' director of sports medicine, Bubba Tyer, told the paper that Portis broke the fourth metacarpal bone of his right ring finger. He could undergo surgery as soon as Monday, with screws inserted to stabilize the bone.
