Long list of prospective left tackles in draft

As many as seven tackles at the scouting combine could be candidates for first-round draft consideration. Teams hope they can land the next Joe Thomas, the 2007 draftee who was a Pro Bowl participant.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The fascinating part of the 2008 scouting combine is the abundance of offensive tackles. As many as seven tackles -- even those that might need to be converted to the left side -- could be candidates for first-round consideration.
