Impasse ends with Jets TE Baker getting extension

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets have signed tight end Chris Baker to a contract extension, a team spokesman confirmed Wednesday night.

The deal, first reported by the NFL Network, was completed last weekend and could keep the seven-year veteran with the Jets through the 2012 season. The team wouldn't divulge contract details, but it is reportedly for another three years on Baker's current deal.
