QB Russell out with knee injury for Raiders

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Andrew Walter was scheduled to start at quarterback for the Oakland Raiders on Sunday in place of the injured JaMarcus Russell.

Russell, who was slowed this week by tendinitis in his right knee, was listed as the third quarterback against the Carolina Panthers.

Walter made his first start since Dec. 23, 2006, when he lost 20-9 to Kansas City. Walter made eight starts that season, winning two. He has played in only one game since, relieving Josh McCown in the ...
