Sources: Mike Singletary's job safe

In a week in which his offensive coordinator was fired, San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary's job is safe for now, according to team and league sources.

But just because he is safe for now does not mean he is safe beyond this year. Even if the 49ers were to snap their losing streak, turn around their season and win their division, people familiar with the situation said there are no assurances that Singletary would return even though he has two years remaining on his contract ...
