Bills implement new penalty punishment

"If a guy gets a penalty during the practices, then we're gonna make sure that all of us are gonna do 10 pushups or whatever," Buffalo coach Rex Ryan said. "The rest of the team will [do pushups] and that person [being penalized] will stand up, just to see how many people he is affecting." The Bills are on pace to set the NFL record for accepted penalties in a season.

Julius Thomas makes step toward return

The Jaguars' tight end practiced without a cast for the first time since breaking his hand Aug. 14 during Jacksonville's preseason opener. Thomas, who caught 12 TDs last season with Denver, isn't sure of when he will return: "It's going to be a continuous process working with the doctors. It's not going to be just you cross one hurdle off and go play with the rest of the kids."
